Inspired by various vintage photographs, manipulated glass, old handwritten documents, and timeworn objects, Young manifests the complexity of memory. Her work takes on a resemblance of a passage of time and becomes a metaphor for the multiple dimensionalities of life experiences. As Young puts it, “As with memory, one moment is erased while the next is painted, leaving only impressions of the first.” Please join us in welcoming back one of our own veteran California based artists.
"Like an archeological dig, objects below the
surface eventually reveal themselves - sometimes crude and unfamiliar in
experiences that have permeated and become part of the human condition has been
a constant in my work. Shapes emerge and perish almost simultaneously
within their environment, and this revealing does not come easy.What remains from this exhaustive struggle are

Sandra Lee Gallery is proud to announce the two-person Grand Prize Awarded show of works by Michael Brennan and Vincent Serritella. Both artists were grand-prize winners in the 2014 show Real and Surreal, which was juried by Dewitt Cheng. This exhibition gives audiences a unique view into the works of two artists who both confront and play with our perceptions of pop culture and contemporary life.
